A semi-autobiographical experimental documentary. An abstract sensory journey through sound & image of a domestic setting; the film is an expression of its creator.
Made as a project with the criteria of being a non-linear narrative and having no synced sound - DV45 was as much about a fluent expressionistic method of shooting as it was about producing a final product. With a storyboard of scenes to follow, the organic instinctual style of shooting meant scenes were added as during. Filmed entirely at my home at the time, DV45 attempts to subvert common images of domestication into things less recognisable. Its backbone a sporadic narrative of the creator's feelings reflected in the work. Filmed on DV tape with a basic Panasonic consumer camera, its texture and aesthetic counters the clean high definition look of modern films.
