My short experimental documentary Lost In The Nameless City has won the Experimental Award at the 12 Months Film Festival!
It has been a lengthy road since shooting and photographing the film back in 2014, which then culminated in its debut screening at the event Filthy Lucre that had commissioned me to make a film in which I interpreted "urban space" in London. At that point the film was shown with musical accompaniment from Steve Reich played live by jazz guitarist Rob Luft. Over the past couple of years the film was frustratingly stuck in limbo and I needed to jump over a few hurdles before I was in a position to submit the film to festivals / galleries freely, release it online and to screen it at my discretion. The film now boasts an original continuous minimalist score created by composer David C. Hëvvitt to complement the 32mm photography and monochrome video of the piece.
I'm delighted at this result and look forward to the film's potential. It is still screening in competition in Berlin at the LemoArt Gallery. Also, my short documentary that was also nominated - A Film By Abigail - alumni of the London Short Film Festival, came 2nd for the Documentary Award.
