'MARS-II' At Oblong Cinema & 'A Film By Abigail' At Bradford Festival

Hello! Unavoidably, it's been a busy & rough few weeks due to family commitments that have set me back on aspects of my work. Due to this, I've been behind on keeping the blog up-to-date for all five people that read it & I can inform in retrospect that A FILM BY ABIGAIL was screened during the BRADFORD FESTIVAL. I don't have the exact details of when or where it showed during the event, but it was most likely shown as part of the entertainment on a screen between musical performances/changes on the main stage of the festival. The opportunity came from the RATMA INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL in which the documentary was a 2nd Place Runner-Up, being asked to provide blocks of shorts to represent them.

Also, MARS-II will screen at OBLONG CINEMA in Leeds (Woodhouse) TONIGHT at 7pm! The film night looks to promote films & filmmakers of local relevance. Despite the invite & promise of an excellent curry, I sadly cannot attend what will be a great evening of short works - perhaps you can though?!

TWO videos releasing soon from filming in London I've been doing over the past weeks:

KING'S PLACE

Firstly, a live performance video which will highlight the endless musical talents of the Female World Champion Beatboxer BELLATRIX as a part of //BackStep// (the Avengers of young London vocal talent?), composer Chris Lewis & rappers Mowgli & Strangelove (all well worth your time checking out). They performed in front of a packed transfixed crowd at KING'S PLACE - this show was something else! It was an acute genre melding mix; joining the modern with the classical, the harmony with the grit. I'm not musically versed enough to have my opinion respected, but it's genuinely the most unique musical work I've ever heard or witnessed. For sure. As a side note, I'm not editing the video, so I'm unsure exactly when it'll be online to see. Make no mistake though, I'll be sharing it as soon as I can & I guarantee it'll be a treat.

The second video is of the work of artist ANNA JUNG SEO. Her 'Memories Through Line & Colour' exhibition held at the VYNER STREET ART GALLERY showcased Anna's huge variety of styles in her paintings & drawings; highlighting her ability to create pieces with versatile emotive qualities, especially when presented together. Some were vibrant, bold & colourful, while others projected darkness, mystery & fear - at least that was some of my interpretation - keep an eye out for the video & let me know yours. Although YOUR interpretation of MY video interpreting ANNA'S interpretations of the WORLD around her... could get messy. The video will hit in the next few weeks.
